2015 Northeast Classic
While the Curtis family privately runs the Northeast Classic, the University of Vermont men’s lacrosse team has played a huge part not only in fundraising for the cause, but also spreading awareness for cancer screening and prevention. The team currently has a teammate diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Osteosarcoma occurs most frequently in individuals between the ages of 10 and 30 years old and more often in males then in females. The UVM men’s lacrosse family has rallied around him and is fundraising in his name this year. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is currently going through chemotherapy in the Boston area.

The Northeast Classic has donated nearly $200,000 to cancer research.
