Watching the Olympics (relentlessly, I might add) makes me even more excited — and impatient — for lacrosse to enter the games. Efforts are underway to get us there for the Summer Games in Tokyo, Paris or Los Angeles (read all about it in our January post, Lacrosse in the Olympics). Even though the Olympics are few and far between (do we really have to wait more than two more years for the Tokyo games?) and they are over in the wink of an eye, there’s simply nothing like them. What a boost for the sport when Lacrosse’s Olympic time comes.

Meanwhile, NCAA Women’s Lacrosse season has begun! We can get our fix as spectators in person at home games at Merrimack College, who soundly defeated Roberts Wesleyan 20-5  yesterday! If you missed the game, you can get highlights at https://merrimackathletics.com/news. You’ll have plenty more opportunities to watch Merrimack games; get the schedule and directions HERE. Beyond Merrimack, there are many other NCAA Div I, II and III Lacrosse teams within a short drive, as another way to get in on the action live. You can also check out some live games and highlights at NCAA.com, and often on the athletics department pages of the colleges and universities themselves.

Hang in there! HGR Summer Elite tournaments begin the weekend of June 9th and 10th when the girls teams compete in the New England Cup at UMass Amherst. The Boys Elite compete the following weekend at the LI Lax Fest in Farmingdale, Long Island.

Countdown to HGR Elite Season: 115 Days!
