HGR ACADEMY TRAINING DETAILS
Designed exclusively for current HGR Elite team members, our Academy Training functions like high-volume private lessons in a focused group setting.
COACHING STAFF
- Boys Program: Bryan Brazill, Peter Smyth, and Scott Corcoran
- Girls Program: Kristy Robertson and Jess Upton
FORMAT & STRUCTURE
- Position-Based Training: Players are grouped by position—Midfield, Attack, and Defense—rather than by age.
- Individualized Work: Every player works with their own ball, target net, and direct feedback from the coaching staff. Age or athleticism gaps won’t slow down high-level reps.
- Mentorship Model: Younger athletes learn to match the pace and work ethic of older players, while veterans sharpen their own understanding by mentoring younger teammates.
POSITION CLINIC BREAKDOWNS
Attack & Midfield (Offensive Development)
- Precision Fundamentals: Advanced stick work, stick protection, and footwork efficiency.
- Dodging & Vision: Focuses on initial dodges, re-dodging, deception, and reading defense progressions to feed accurately.
- Biomechanics of Shooting: Optimizing kinetic movement for maximum shot power, accurate releases, and creative finishes from tough angles.
- Note: Attack and Midfield groups mirror these concepts while focusing on their distinct field positions and angles.
Defense
- Core Fundamentals: Footwork, stick work, approach, slide angles, and takeaway checks.
- Tactical Execution: Arriving and holding double-teams, peel-off timing, and field communication.
- Live-Action Reps: Defensive groups utilize volunteer offensive players to simulate real-game speed and game-like scenarios.
REGISTRATION & POLICIES
