HGR is excited to announce our latest series of programming, ROOTS, created for children from 18 months to 5 years of age.
ROOTS is designed to introduce young, active, blossoming athletes to the sports world. Specifically, the HGR sports world which focuses on balance. Coach Niki will use a variety of sports as a vehicle for both physical development as well as social and emotional development. The focus will be on fun, fitness, and discovery in a safe and friendly environment.
We are currently enrolling for our Seeds and Sprouts classes, but be sure to check back frequently as more programming will be added throughout the fall and winter months.
Seeds
A 45-minute class designed to introduce your toddler to sports and fitness with their parent/caregiver’s assistance. This is a coach-guided, discovery-based program helping children 18 months to 3 years of age engage in structured physical activities tailored to the developmental needs of toddlers. This class includes a weekly physical enrichment obstacle course and an organized discovery-based sports lesson with a focus on motor development with lots of music and excitement.
Sprouts
A 50-minute class for children ages 3 and 4. This is an active class encouraging kids to explore and develop a variety of athletic skills through the introduction of 6 different sports. This action-packed, non-competitive program combines fun exercises, challenging obstacle courses, and organized group games to enhance your child’s gross motor development, coordination, social development, and teamwork skills. The goal is for your child to be independent during this class.
Coach Niki
Coach Niki was born and raised in Waterford, CT, but now lives right here in North Andover. She is running our ROOTS program here at HGR for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. She has a passion for kids and watching them grow! Her favorite color is red in the winter and yellow in the summer. When she isn’t coaching, she loves being a mom to her four children Jane, Peter, Steven, and Whitney and you will likely find her around the North Andover athletic fields, nearby hockey rinks or exploring the local hiking trails with her family.
